TAMPOPRINT built the first Continua with 2 lanes in 1991.
-
The systems are firstly designed for mass production and
secondly by having just 2 lanes they are flexible and precise
enough to implement e.g. 4-colour photo printing.

 |
Depending on print image, the 2-lane Continua offers an output of up to 120,000 items/h when printing caps with a diameter of 28 mm.
An output of approx. 90,000 items/h is available for caps with a 38 mm diameter.
Depending on what the customer wants, the systems can be designed with up to 6 colours.
Using interchangeable mandrills allows for rapid process changeovers
between the different cap types. The ascending conveyor can
be readjusted accordingly for this. It is also worth mentioning
that reliable feeding via the ascending conveyor is not dependant
on the cap colour. The caps are pre-treated using a totally
automatic gas pre-treatment process which satisfies very stringent
requirements. If the bonding is insufficient, special plasma
pre-treatment can be integrated.
The final drying process
for the caps uses gas. This ensures that the solvent is quickly
evaporated and helps the ink bond with the cap. The complete
underside of the machine is used for subsequent drying with
cold air. High-precision register adjustment without tools
